Now Accepting Rolling Admissions

We are excited to announce that Origin Expeditions is now accepting rolling admissions! Both clients and groups can submit applications at any time using our application page, and as funding becomes available to host trips, those who qualify will receive invites to attend. Each group or individual can choose to pay for their trip, have us set up a crowdfunding campaign for them, or apply for a full or partial scholarship.

This development has several implications. With a "pool" of applicants, we can plan and run trips in a more streamlined fashion, increasing their frequency and the overall impact of our organization. Having both trip resources and clients at the ready will also make our project proposals for grants more compelling and fundraising more effective.

What this means for you as one of our supporters:

  1. If you know a teen between the ages of 14 and 18 whom you believe would be a good fit for our program, refer them to our course and application pages! We now have ten spots available for a Manistee River Canoe Trip August 3 - 8 of 2020!

  2. There is no better time to donate. If you are able, please visit our fundraising page and consider contributing and sharing it with your network. For every $300 raised, we can offer a position on one of our trips to a qualifying applicant.

Due to the recent increase in COVID-19 cases, all programs are tentative and may be canceled. Individuals are still welcome to apply. We will keep applications on file and notify applicants when new dates have been determined to run trips safely.

We will be employing many protocols to minimize the risk of spreading COVID-19 both before and during our trips. One measure includes screening individuals for symptoms of COVID-19 upon arrival, including checking for fever-like temperatures. If clients arrive showing signs of COVID-19, we can not allow them to attend the trip. Due to this policy, it is highly recommended that individuals applying for our program immediately adhere to social distancing practices and any other measures to prevent contracting the virus.

Regards,

Joe
